The controversial recent accidents with the self-driving car have clearly not put off the Dutch industry and government. Recently, a bill has been adopted by the Dutch cabinet which makes it possible to conduct on-road experiments with self-driving cars without the driver being physically present in the vehicle. Up until now the driver always had to be physically present. Companies will soon be able to apply for a permit that allows these tests to be conducted.
