Frequently asked questions
Which matters does Law & More handle for private clients?
For private clients, we handle family law (including divorce and child arrangements), immigration law, employment law and privacy law matters. We also assist individuals with criminal, real estate and civil law. We give advice, negotiate on your behalf and represent you in court.
Do you assist expats in the Netherlands?
Yes. We advise in Dutch and English and regularly assist expats with residence permits, employment contracts, dismissal and divorce. For first contact, our staff also speak German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian, Arabic and Turkish. Meetings can also take place by phone or video call.
What does a lawyer for private clients cost?
The introductory meeting is free of charge. A one-off advice meeting without further assistance costs 300 euros including VAT. For further assistance, the hourly rate is 250 to 350 euros excluding VAT for a lawyer and 300 to 400 euros excluding VAT for a partner, discussed in advance.
Can I get legal aid through Law & More?
No. Law & More does not work on legal aid (toevoeging) or on a no-cure-no-pay basis. Legal aid exists in the Netherlands through the Legal Aid Board (Raad voor Rechtsbijstand). If you qualify, you can contact the Legal Counter (Juridisch Loket) or a lawyer who works on that basis.
Which private matters does Law & More not handle?
We do not handle inheritance law, personal injury or tax matters. For those questions, we recommend contacting a specialised lawyer or adviser. If your matter falls outside our practice, we tell you so at first contact, so you do not lose time.
