A common complaint in the legal world is that lawyers generally tend to wield incomprehensible legalese. Apparently, this is not always a problem. Judge Hansje Loman and registrar Hans Braam of the court of Amsterdam recently received the ‘Klare Taalbokaal 2016’ (Clear Language Trophy 2016) for writing the most comprehensible court decision. The decision concerns the suspension of a driving license due to presumed drug use.
